Throughout my time at Iowa State, I have had many opportunities to hone in on my drawing technique. In the first year of school, I was able to practice on drawing from in person references. I was later able to expand on this skill during my study abroad in Rome. In Rome, I was able to practice working in watercolor, charcoal, chalk pastel, and primarily pencil technique.
In my first year, I was also able to practice more abstract forms of design. In the 30-20-10 project, we practiced abstracting patterns from picture references and further working with these abstractions in a design process to result in more detailed and varying products.
